Return of DONN

Andrew Vaughn There's something strange about this artist. It's almost as if they don't even know what they're trying to make. The music feels so finely crafted, the vocals are sung with passion, but the fusion is off like an uncalibrated speaker system. I feel like they are always on the cusp of something brilliant...
I set "I Can't Fake It" as my favorite because the vocals felt so much more "in tune" with the music. I'll have to keep listening to figure it out, but I recommend both albums. They're good. Favorite track: I Can't Fake It.

Jean-Paul DuQuette I discovered this simply by clicking on the "recently bought" crawl and wow, what a shocker. Super catchy alterna-twee-indie-pop. One of my favorites of 2018 so far. Favorite track: Fifty Years From Now.

LYRICS: Why do we fight about the little things? Little things don’t matter! Caught up in monotony Here we go - again Why do we wake up every morning? Just to do it all over Another day questioning “What’s the point?” Fifty years from now Will it matter what I say? Fifty years from now Here we go - again Fifty years from now Will I remember yesterday? Fifty years from now - I don’t know! Hold on - hold on! Little things don’t matter! Hold on - hold on! Here we go! Fifty years from now Will it matter what I say? Fifty years from now Here we go - again Fifty years from now Will I remember yesterday? Fifty years from now I don’t know! Fifty years from now - Fifty years from now - Fifty years from now - Fifty years from now Fifty years from now Will it matter what I say? Fifty years from now Here we go - again Fifty years from now Will I remember yesterday? Fifty years from now I don’t know! I don’t know! I don’t know!

LYRICS: Remember the time we couldn’t find our way back to school we thought we were cool Lost in the woods you know it did us some good Exploring all day but never finding our way Looking at things differently Not always bad It’s just how it can be Love and agree Could you do this for me? You know I’ll do it for you It’s all I can do Faces in clouds you see faces in clouds But I see clouds in faces And it brings you down Faces in clouds you see faces in clouds But I see clouds in faces And it brings you down Faces in clouds you see faces in clouds But I see clouds in faces And it brings you down I know it brings you down ‘Cause I see clouds in faces And it brings you down Faces in clouds you see faces in clouds But I see clouds in faces And it brings you down I know it brings you down

I'm Glad 03:20
LYRICS: Goin’ out again Back when we were friends Goin’ 85 Drink and drive Breakin’ in to see Things you won’t believe Loaded gun nearby Stay alive Out on Halloween Another trick or treat Candy razor blade Walk away Runnin’ after dark Dodge the cops at the park Your word versus mine Every time I’m glad it’s finally over I’m glad we’re walkin’ away I’m glad I don’t have to hear about the stupid mistakes - that I made I’m glad I’m glad I can do my own thing I’m glad you’re doin’ your thing too I’m glad that I can do me and you can do you Do you! I remember when You were innocent It wasn’t meant to be You and me

Don't Go Out 03:42
LYRICS: Telephone that things are better Words keep comin’ out But something isn’t right I can sleep when we’re together Up all night again hoping for a sign Don’t go out if you love me Don’t go out I need to know that you’re alright Don’t go out - it makes me crazy Don’t go out You could stay with me tonight You could stay with me tonight You could stay with me tonight Your old friend’s in town for the weekend No time to explain but something isn’t right Another weekend we’re not together I’m all alone again hoping for a sign Don’t go out if you love me Don’t go out I need to know that you’re alright Don’t go out - it makes me crazy Don’t go out You could stay with me tonight DON’T GO OUT!

Watching Me 02:21
LYRICS: Come inside Close the door behind They can read my mind Cover up the windows ‘Cause everywhere that I go They’re watching me Cameras on the ceiling I always get the feeling They’re watching me Just a little paranoid But I already told ya They’re watching me A little light comes on I hear a noise in the garage Hide behind the couch

LYRICS: Nobody gets it right It’s human behavior You never find that perfect woman or a perfect man Sometimes you just gotta decide what you’re OK with Sometimes a little understanding can go a long way Trust me I know You don’t have to say it Trust me I know The writing’s on the wall Nobody gets it right We’re not perfect But we don’t have to fight If we can let go of things in the past Then we can start to understand how to make it last Trust me I know You don’t have to say it Trust me I know Don’t have to say anything no you don’t Trust me I know already understand it Trust me I know The writing’s on the wall We can stay together And we can make it work We always work it out I don’t need perfection Please don’t apologize I want you to recognize I’m gonna do the dishes I’m gonna take out the trash … and you can stay in bed

LYRICS: Got in my car today And it was cold and lonely Turned on the radio Just another song I don’t like And I wonder what’s going on And I wonder where’s the good songs And I wish that I could sing along But I can’t fake it Look back to see my friends Turns out my friends are all gone I feel it closin’ in Those times when I’m all alone And I don’t know where I went wrong And I don’t know how to hold on And I wanna sing a happier song But I can’t fake it I can’t fake it I can’t fake it I can’t fake it I took a walk today Thought about growin’ older My shoes came untied I tripped and then fell over And I don’t know where I went wrong And I don’t know how to hold on And I wanna sing a happier song But I can’t fake it Got in my car today Turned on the radio And I wonder what’s going on Look back to see my friends Turns out my friends are all gone I feel it closin’ in Those times when I’m all alone And I wonder what’s going on

In My Sleep 03:11
LYRICS: Out the door, down the street Run away in my sleep Just a dream on repeat Going numb in my sleep In my sleep - Dream a dream Here I come - Wait for me In my sleep - I don’t feel anything Paralyzed, lucid dream Need to breathe There’s still time to throw a line Hold on tight before it’s gone Drift away distant ship If you can hear me say my name Now my love starts to speak Come back to me, come back to me
11.
Little Girl 04:44
LYRICS: You were just a little girl when you came into my world You were just a little girl and I was your boy I was your boy Running fast you held my hand far away from where we began And I could tell we never would return to the days that we had known before We had stepped right through a door And on the other side we found what we were always looking for You were just a little girl when you came into my world You were just a little girl and I was your boy and I was your boy While apart we’d make believe that we could pack our bags and leave and meet each other somewhere in the future Now our dreams are coming true living side by side with you I promise I will love you ‘til the end
